About CardioRegenix

CardioReGenix is an ambitious five-year research program coordinated by the Vrije Universiteit Brussel and funded by the European Union. It focuses on pioneering approaches in cardiovascular disease management, particularly through genetic manipulation and targeting specific genes to reduce complications associated with the condition.

The aim was to create a brochure-style website for CardioReGenix that effectively showcases their groundbreaking research. Essential features included a platform to highlight their work, partnerships, news updates, and a staff login functionality for accessing non-sensitive documents.

The challenge lay in designing a website that not only served as an informative hub for CardioReGenix’s research initiatives but also included various functionalities like a members portal and event information, all while maintaining a user-friendly and accessible interface.

Key elements of the CardioReGenix website development included:

Informative and Engaging Design: The website was designed to reflect the innovative nature of CardioReGenix’s research. A custom Lottie animation and YouTube video feed were integrated to visually engage visitors and effectively convey complex scientific concepts.
Custom Post Types for Partners and News: To ensure a structured presentation of information, custom post types were created for showcasing partners and different types of news updates. This approach allowed for organised and accessible content management.
Members Portal and Staff Login: A members portal was established, providing a secure space for staff to access relevant documents. The staff login functionality was designed to facilitate easy access to non-sensitive materials, enhancing internal communication and resource sharing.
Event and Meeting Features: The website included a section for events and meetings, keeping visitors informed about upcoming CardioReGenix activities and collaborations.
Technical Optimisations: Automatic image optimiaation and technical SEO were implemented to ensure the site was efficient and easily discoverable. A white-label dashboard was set up for streamlined management by the CardioReGenix team.
